And how to treat them…
And how to treat them…
Areas such as elbows and heals of feet dry out easily and can crack and peel. The reason for this is they’re high traffic areas. That is areas that are used a lot and have lots of contact with hard surfaces.
To treat these areas apply an enriching moisturiser once or twice a day. Applying moisturiser to these areas before bed is a great idea because you will have hours for the oils and butters to absorb into your skin and do their magic.
Some people experience dry patches of skin on their face – while the rest of their skin is normal, dry or even oily. This is generally a skin condition, as apposed to a skin type.
Skin conditions need to be treated differently to skin types because usually there is something causes the dry skin patches. This could be the products you’re using, your working environment, wind damage. Either way it is definitely caused by skin being too dry and you need an enriching moisturiser to repair the skin.
Use either Whipped Cream Moisturiser for dry skin if you aren’t moisturising frequently, or Soothing Salve for skin that is being moisturised, yet the condition still exists and you need that extra bit of moisturisation and protection. Great for isolated areas.
Hands, neck and legs are exposed to the wind, sun and other elements more often than other body parts and are more likely not to be moisturised often.
You can choose to neglect them, however, you should keep in mind they’ll show your age quicker than other parts of your body, so looking after them is important. Use a good moisturiser, body oily or body butter on these parts even if it’s seldom… it’s better than nothing.
Massage Oil makes a great bath / body oil. When you add it to your bath you can lie back and let the oils coat your skin while you relax. The really good thing about this is it’s an EASY way to moisturise your body.
Luscious Body Butter can also be dolloped into your bath water for the same easy moisturising results.
NOTE: Keep products you are not using or don’t use often in the fridge – they will last for ages.
